For Windows in Chrome or Edge, the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + F5 (or Ctrl + Reload) refreshes. For Mac, hold Cmd-Shift-R or Shift-Reload. Most browsers also have a refresh button next to the URL.
Clear your browser history and cache If the refresh icon doesn't work, it might be because your browser keeps accessing and displaying the old web page version stored in the cache. Deleting it should solve the issue. Click on your browser's menu icon, go to Settings, and select History.
Chromebooks all have the tap-to-click feature enabled as standard, so tapping one finger on the trackpad will act as a normal click. To use the right-click command (and access contextual menus, among other things) all you need to do is tap two fingers on the trackpad instead.
Or, Hold down Ctrl and press F5. Just open the Chrome Dev Tools by pressing F12. Once the chrome dev tools are open, just right click on the refresh button and a menu will drop down. This menu gives you the option of doing a hard refresh, or even clearing the cache and do a hard refresh automatically.
Just figured out the basic reason for this - Developer Tools Console must be open to access right-click options on the browser refresh button. The easiest way I find to open Dev Tools in Chrome is to right-click anywhere on the page and select Inspect.
I guess it is a feature mostly just for developers and the Chrome team doesn't want regular users accidentally clearing their cache!
Press F12 to open the developer tools and then you can right-click the reload button, and you get three options - Reload, Hard Reload (redownloads images) and Empty Cache and Hard Reload.
