I am using Ubuntu 14.04 with Oracle JDK 8. I want to inspect performance of my application using VisualVM. I can inspect other applications like JDownloader but I can't inspect my own applications and Eclipse 4.3. Before I made fresh install of Ubuntu, I was using JDK 7 and I have no problem and using it without any configuration. It gives following log.

You can access VisualVM from the bin directory of the JDK: On a Windows system, start VisualVM by double-clicking jvisualvm.exe. You can also select VisualVM from the Start menu (if Windchill shortcuts are installed). On other systems, start VisualVM by invoking the jvisualvm script.
Use VisualVM bundled with GraalVMGraalVM contains a fully compliant Java SE 8, Java SE 11, and Java SE 17 JDK distribution based on Oracle JDK and OpenJDK.
JConsole uses only JMX, but VisualVM uses other monitoring technologies like Jvmstat, Attach API and SA in addition to JMX. It can merge data from all those monitoring technologies in one place and the user does not need to think which technology he should use in particular situation.
Various optional tools, including Java VisualVM, are provided with the Java Development Kit (JDK) for retrieving different types of data about running JVM software instances. For example, most of the previously standalone tools JConsole, jstat, jinfo, jstack, and jmap are part of Java VisualVM.
run eclipse and your application with jvm parameters -Duser.language=en -Duser.country=us ...
then you will be able profile with jvisualvm.
for eclise put this two lines in eclipse.ini
-Duser.language=en
-Duser.country=us
maybe your pre installed Ubuntu had languge settings as english and you was ok.
