I read somewhere that all default android applications where opensource.
If this is true, I am trying to find the Google Maps code. Can anyone tell me how I might find it?
Source code is available for most apps and websites. You can find it on the developer's website, or sometimes you can find it in the app's store. If you can't find it, or if you want to view it before downloading it, you can usually find a copy of the source code on the internet.
The Android source tree is located in a Git repository hosted by Google. The Git repository includes metadata for the Android source, including changes to the source and when the changes were made. This page describes how to download the source tree for a specific Android code line.
