Okay so what I have so far is a gui(In Java) and a program(In Python). I want the button in the gui when pressed to send the outputs to the python program and to run it. I then want the gui program to display the python print commands in the text box on the right side.
So, my question is, is this possible and how would I go about making it work?

Using the Java Swing GUI package is the standard GUI toolkit for Java applications and is widely available on multiple platforms including Windows, Mac, and Linux. The event handlers in Java can then call existing Python applications to analyze the data.

Swing in Java is a lightweight GUI toolkit which has a wide variety of widgets for building optimized window based applications. It is a part of the JFC( Java Foundation Classes). It is build on top of the AWT API and entirely written in java. It is platform independent unlike AWT and has lightweight components.
You can spawn a python process:

Then use the Process
object to read the output of your python program.
