Not sure if it is just me, I am moving from bootstrap 3 to v4 and dropdown list is not working, even the simplest example copied from the bootstrap v4 dropdown session. The code below shows a button clickable but not dropping down any. I found out that at the 0.01sec after I refresh and I click on the button the dropdown menu appears. But any times after it is just not working. Here is my code

Why is my drop down menu not working in bootstrap? Solution : The dropdown should be toggled via data attributes or using javascript. In the above program, we have forgotten to add a data attribute so the dropdown is not working. So add data-bs-toggle="dropdown" to toggle the dropdown.
To open the dropdown menu, use a button or a link with a class of .dropdown-toggle and the data-toggle="dropdown" attribute. The .caret class creates a caret arrow icon (), which indicates that the button is a dropdown.
By default, a dropdown menu is automatically positioned 100% from the top and along the left side of its parent. Add . dropdown-menu-right to a . dropdown-menu to right align the dropdown menu.
Dropdowns are toggleable, contextual overlays for displaying lists of links and more. They're made interactive with the included Bootstrap dropdown JavaScript plugin. They're toggled by clicking, not by hovering; this is an intentional design decision.
The btn-group class is no longer used for dropdowns in Bootstrap 4. Use the dropdown class for the parent:
