PyCharm. One of the best (and only) full-featured, dedicated IDEs for Python is PyCharm. Available in both paid (Professional) and free open-source (Community) editions, PyCharm installs quickly and easily on Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux platforms.
Beginner - IDLE, Thonny would be the perfect choice for first-time programmers who are just getting into Python. Intermediate - For intermediate level users PyCharm, VS Code, Atom, Sublime Text 3 are good options.
In the performance criteria, VS Code easily beats PyCharm. Because VS Code doesn't try to be a full IDE and keeps it simple as a text-editor, the memory footprint, startup-time, and overall responsiveness of VS Code is much better than PyCharm.
Probably the new PyCharm from the makers of IntelliJ and ReSharper.
I haven't played around with it much but eclipse/pydev feels nice.
