Extended control settings/options are missing in this update? like sending sms, gps settings unable to find the settings any help appreciated.
The screen recording controls are in the Screen record tab of the Extended Controls window.
Setting Up the Android Emulator Select Tools > SDK Manager. Then, from the settings window, choose Android Emulator. Click Apply, and Android Studio will download the emulator for you.
Extended controls, settings, and help. Use the extended controls to send data, change device properties, control apps, and more. To open the Extended controls window, click More in the emulator panel. You can use keyboard shortcuts to perform many of these tasks.
Android Emulator is included with Android Studio. Versions of the emulator prior to 25.3.0 were distributed as part of the Android SDK Tools. To ensure you have the latest version, check the SDK Manager for updates. For Android Emulator versions prior to 25.3.0, see the Android SDK Tools release notes.
This update includes support for running the emulator directly in Android Studio and virtual devices with Freeform Window Mode activated by default. The Android Emulator can now be run directly in Android Studio .
The Android Emulator runs directly inside Android Studio by default. This allows you to conserve screen real estate, navigate quickly between the emulator and the editor window using hotkeys, and organize your IDE and emulator workflow in a single application window.
To see the additional options you need to run the Emulator in a separate window (process).
To do so go to File...Settings... and then choose the following.
You'll need to uncheck the Launch in a tool window
option.
After you do that and restart Android Studio and start your emulator, it will run in a separate window and you'll see the options you want on the ellipse menu item on the side of the emulator.

Limitations
Currently, you can't use the emulator's extended controls when it's running in a tool window. If your development workflow depends heavily on the extended controls, continue to use the Android Emulator as a standalone application. In addition, certain virtual devices—such as Android TV and foldable devices—can't be run in Android Studio because they have specialized UI requirements or important functions in the extended controls.
