I've read somewhere that there is a lightweight and simpler webservice alternative to SOAP. Now I cant find it again. In the exapmle I saw, I think it was used in Android to call services on App Engine.
Does anybody know about this?
Regular soap can be irritating to dry, inflamed or sensitive skin so soap substitutes are a good alternative. Two common soap substitutes are aqueous cream and emulsifying ointment. Some of them contain sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) which can irritate skin if left on for prolonged periods.
Not even the Greeks and Romans, who pioneered running water and public baths, used soap to clean their bodies. Instead, men and women immersed themselves in water baths and then smeared their bodies with scented olive oils. They used a metal or reed scraper called a strigil to remove any remaining oil or grime.
Well, there are quite a few to choose from.

But it sounds like maybe you mean JSON RPC?
