When doing BDD, it seems that Cucumber is the default tool to specify behaviors, however the Cucumber website and articles look a bit out of date and not very active.
What are the alternatives ?
Meanwhile, the Persian cucumber or sfran is good for stir fries because it can tolerate high heat. It tastes and looks quite similar to the English cucumber, but it's usually shorter in length. These three are quite similar overall, so you can freely use them as substitutes for English cucumbers and for one another.
Members of the cucumber family, known as cucurbits, can be planted now. They include summer squash, zucchini, winter squash, mirliton, pumpkin, gourd, cucuzzi, watermelon, cantaloupe, cushaw, luffa and, of course, cucumber. All of these vegetables produce vines that run along the ground or climb.
Zucchini (aka courgettes) can be used interchangeably usually for cucumber in sliced pickle recipes such as bread and butter, sweet mix, etc. This is a good tip to keep in mind if you are making pickles at a time of the year when cucumbers are very expensive and zucchini are not.
