I'm hoping to install a dark theme for TortoiseHg on my W10 computer (similar to the dark theme in VS2015 to reduce eyestrain from looking at it all day) but there's so little documentation out there that I'm not clear if it's even possible.
Every example I've come across seems to imply that it's only possible when running Linux/Ubuntu, and even then it's not super clear what theme types I should be looking for (GTK2?, KDE?).
All that the TortoiseHg mentions is at the following link (under "How to I change GTK themes?"): http://tortoisehg.bitbucket.io/manual/2.9/faq.html.
That said, any specific sites or themes that have a good selection? To keep it objective, I am looking for something as close to the VisualStudio 2015 dark theme as possible.
Many thanks!
Explorer: select TortoiseHg ‣ Add Files… in the context menu. A dialog will open for you to check the selected files and accept the add operation. You can also open the status tool by selecting TortoiseHg ‣ View File Status.
1 Answer. Show activity on this post. Or in Workbench, right click on Tip and select Update. Or you can just right click, Update and select update to branchname / tip without worrying about the revision you are looking at.
Workbench. TortoiseHg is a Windows shell extension and a series of applications for the Mercurial distributed revision control system. It also includes a Gnome/Nautilus extension and a CLI wrapper application so the TortoiseHg tools can be used on non-Windows platforms.
There’s plenty of methods to install a Windows 10 theme, such as from the Microsoft Store, or by using other applications that can change the color-scheme to your windows and taskbar.
Also, if you want to make TortoiseHg available as desktop application from menu or so, you can first copy thg into /usr/bin or /usr/local/bin. You must also copy the Python module tortoisehg inside the directory where you built TortoiseHg to one of the paths in PYTHONPATH ( PYTHONPATH is the path where Python searches for module files).
Clone tortoisehg repository. Change into thg directory. Install PyQt5. Install mercurial. Install Qscintilla. Lets build tortoisehg for inplace usage. Start tortoisehg. I got tortoisehg working on three different Ubuntu 20.04 installations using this recipe. Contains scripts for automating the tasks listed above..
Non-Microsoft themes can’t be installed by default, however. We’ll first need to loosen Microsoft’s restrictions on theme installations. If you want to install one of Microsoft’s themes, it’s very straightforward. 1. Download the desired theme from the Microsoft website. 2.
Late answer, but still relevant.
TortoiseHg do not have any theming possibilities. To make most of THG dark, You have to switch Windows 10 theme to dark (or dark high contrast for previous Windowses).
Unfortunately, You can expect many bugs which are tracked in this issue:
