Using a literal number with 35660 digits raises SyntaxError

Question

I'm copying and pasting 10000! from the web, and this number has 35660 digits, but I'm getting the following error:

SyntaxError: Exceeds the limit (4300) for integer string conversion: value has 35660 digits; use sys.set_int_max_str_digits() to increase the limit - Consider hexadecimal for huge integer literals to avoid decimal conversion limits.

I wrote the following because it's supposed to eliminate the the maximum value allowed to use:

But I still get the error.

I went on this site and copied the 10000! value and pasted it into my IDE.

Suppose you have a script like this:

import sys

sys.set_int_max_str_digits(0)

bignumber = 284... # big number

The set_int_max_str_digits will not prevent the error, because the parser will attempt to parse the int literal before the set_int_max_str_digits call is executed.

Instead, you can set the limit before Python starts, using a command-line flag.

E.g.

python3 -X int_max_str_digits=0 myscript.py

Then the int can successfully be parsed.
