How to use link_to function on svg icons from bootstrap

Question

I'm trying to convert the delete link on my site into just an icon with a trashbin that does the same function.

I'm new to ruby on rails and I want to use the link_to method on the svg instead of the word 'Delete' but I'm not too sure how to go about doing it. The svg code is taken from bootstrap.

Here is the code I've written so far:
