Google reCaptcha verification handshake exception

I'm using reCatpcha for my application and I can integrate it on my page with no issues. However, when I try to verify the response through a POST request I'm getting a handshake error. Here's the error I'm getting:

And this is the class I'm using to verify the response:

package servlets;

import java.io.BufferedReader;
import java.io.DataOutputStream;
import java.io.IOException;
import java.io.InputStreamReader;
import java.net.URL;

import javax.net.ssl.HttpsURLConnection;

import com.google.gson.Gson;

public class VerifyRecaptcha {

public static final String url = "https://www.google.com/recaptcha/api/siteverify";
public static final String secret = "6LdqAicTAAAAAIBufUS9Zu_yC1WgF8vGt40-rYTh";
private final static String USER_AGENT = "Mozilla/5.0";

public static boolean verify(String gRecaptchaResponse) throws IOException {
    if (gRecaptchaResponse == null || "".equals(gRecaptchaResponse)) {
        return false;
    }

    try {
        URL obj = new URL(url);
        HttpsURLConnection con = (HttpsURLConnection) obj.openConnection();

        con.setRequestMethod("POST");
        con.setRequestProperty("User-Agent", USER_AGENT);
        con.setRequestProperty("Accept-Language", "en-US,en;q=0.5");

        String postParams = "secret=" + secret + "&response=" + gRecaptchaResponse;

        con.setDoOutput(true);
        DataOutputStream wr = new DataOutputStream(con.getOutputStream());
        wr.writeBytes(postParams);
        wr.flush();
        wr.close();

        int responseCode = con.getResponseCode();
        System.out.println("\nSending 'POST' request to URL : " + url);
        System.out.println("Post parameters : " + postParams);
        System.out.println("Response Code : " + responseCode);

        BufferedReader in = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(con.getInputStream()));
        String inputLine;
        StringBuffer response = new StringBuffer();

        while ((inputLine = in.readLine()) != null) {
            response.append(inputLine);
        }
        in.close();

        // print result
        System.out.println(response.toString());

        Gson gson = new Gson();
        Response resp = gson.fromJson(response.toString(), Response.class);
        return resp.isSuccess();
    } catch (Exception e) {
        e.printStackTrace();
        return false;
    }
}

class Response {
    boolean success;

    public boolean isSuccess() {
        return success;
    }

    public void setSuccess(boolean success) {
        this.success = success;
    }
   }
}

Note: I tried the same project at home (on my laptop) and it's working perfectly. Now, I'm trying the same project from my office, ant it's showing this Exception.

You need to set the javax.net.ssl.trustStore property to the trust store file on your computer. The default cert store location is generally $java_home/lib/security/cacerts. It is working on your home computer because probably Google's certificate chain is installed in your default java cert store on your home computer.
